We are currently working to remedy significant damage to the roof and structure at All Secure Self Storage in Paraparaumu caused by high winds in May 2024.

Aoraki was brought on board to assist with the required repairs to the All Secure Self Storage building, commencing with assisting the consultants with the final scoping of design for the project, as well as providing input on buildability and how the repairs could be carried out around/within the significant temporary scaffold tent that had already been erected around the existing building for temporary weatherproofing.

The final scope of works involved demolishing the roof and level 1 structure down to the level 1 slab, then rebuilding the structure in line with the new design and recladding the building in order to enable the specialist fitout of the storage space to commence as early as possible. This project is being carried out while the ground floor storage business remains operational, so the Aoraki team has a particularly strong drive onsite to deliver this completed project as early as possible so that the client's operations can return back to normal.

We have broken the project down into 4 areas to enable us to stage the works around the temporary tent and propping structure of this large (3,200m2 footprint) building. To give an idea of scale, we will be bringing in 30 tonnes of new structural steel into the building, and the long run roofing is coming in at lengths up to 25m long!
